Blood Q & A

WARNING: This short interview contains SPOILERS. Don't read it if you haven't finished "Blood".

Pete Harries: First things first, can we trust Rachel and Chris?

KJ Wignall: I'm not sure - can you? All I'll say at this stage is that good people sometimes do bad things.

PH: You mean Rachel and Chris?

KJ: Not necessarily. It could be said of lots of the characters.

PH: Do you think any of the characters in "Blood" are completely wicked?

KJ: No.

PH: Not even Asmund or Lorcan Labraid?

KJ: Well, Lorcan Labraid doesn't actually appear in this book. Asmund is many things, but not "completely wicked".

PH: Will we meet some of the minor characters again? I'm thinking of Marcus and the spirits, but also some of the people Will encountered in the past.

KJ: I don't think it's a big surprise to say that Marcus has a part to play in the next book. Several of the other characters also reappear but not necessarily in the ways you might expect.

PH: One thing I wondered about - do you know the dates of Will's hibernations, when he was active and so on?

KJ: Yes. Since arising from his first hibernation he's been active for just over 400 years.

PH: And the background stories - I guess you know more than you've put in the book? Or does it all emerge in the other books?

KJ: Of course, I know all the background, but only some of it will appear in the books. I might put some of it online in time.

PH: Okay, one final question, and I know you won't answer, but I still have to ask, do Will and Eloise end up together?

KJ: They need each other, and they're two parts of a whole, just like the broken medallion, West and East.

PH: Okay, as I suspected, that didn't even come close to answering the question.

KJ: No, it didn't, but then the journey's only just begun. You'll find out soon enough.
